Hey There
My name is Sophie Barwa
I’m Sophie, an educator with a passion for helping children grow with confidence. From Bali to Vienna, I create small learning spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. Whether it’s preparing for school, keeping up with the curriculum or simply discovering the joy of learning. With a Master’s degree in Education and further training in autism, ADHD, special education and individualized learning, I bring both expertise and heart to every child I work with.

All About Me
My journey into teaching didn’t start the way I expected. I did my degree in primary education, but very early on I was placed in a special education school and it changed everything. I discovered how powerful it is to look beyond the curriculum and truly focus on the individual child: their needs, their strengths, their unique spark. In those classrooms I realized that real growth happens when every child feels seen, supported and celebrated.

That insight took me to Bali, where I began working 1:1 with children with special needs and volunteering in local schools, teaching English. Those moments - sitting on the floor, laughing, learning, connecting - showed me how pure and joyful education can be. Later, I brought this same spirit back to Vienna, where I started small-group preschool programs during the summer to prepare children for school in playful but meaningful ways.

Now, I continue both paths: opening a learning center in Bali and running summer preschool groups in Vienna. Whether in 1:1 settings or small groups, my goal is always the same. To help children develop the foundations they need for school, to keep up with their learning journey and most of all, to feel confident and excited about the road ahead.

This work is not just my profession, it’s my passion. It fills me with energy and joy, even on the tough days. Seeing children light up with pride, parents surprised and touched by their child’s progress and families leaving with more confidence than they came with. These are the moments I live for. I pour my whole heart into this, because nothing makes me happier than helping children grow, shine and step into their future with a smile.
